July 14, 2025 – The Streevani office premises blossomed with enthusiasm and hope as it hosted a vibrant Vanamahotsav Day celebration, dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and action. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of 22 children, guided by Sr. Cynthia, Sr. Rojalia, and Miss Malashree, who together created a meaningful and inspiring program.

The celebration kicked off with a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a joyful tone for the day. Sr. Cynthia, in her address, passionately spoke about the importance of preserving nature, emphasizing its critical role in sustaining life. She illustrated her point with the example of the Bhīma River, which has nurtured communities for generations. Reflecting on the past, she noted how, 20 years ago, people drank freely from natural water sources without hesitation, a stark contrast to today’s reliance on bottled water.

 Talking about the present day air pollution Sr. Cynthia cautioned, “In another ten years, we don’t know what the situation will be—children might carry oxygen bags instead of books.” Her words resonated deeply, especially as a few girls shared poignant reflections on the oxygen shortages during the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring the fragility of our natural resources.

Miss Malashree enlightened the children on the importance of waste management. She explained the significance of separating dry and wet waste and making effective use of corporation-provided waste bins to promote a cleaner environment. Her practical insights inspired the young participants to adopt sustainable habits in their daily lives. To keep the energy high, the children engaged in lively games that filled the air with laughter and excitement. The highlight of the day was the hands-on activity where each of the 22 children planted a seed and watered it, symbolizing their commitment to nurturing the environment.
